ST. MICHIEL'S BAY
This sheltered Southern Caribbean bay has a deep-water mooring buoy facility especially suitable for large vessels. SSCV Balder of Heeremac, one of seven such vessels in the world, repeatedly moors at St. Michiel’s Bay for maintenance, mainly because of the bay's safe waters, the easy availability of ship maintenance, repair supplies and companies, the attractive harbor rates and close proximity to shore.
