It has been confirmed that the cruise line will be returning to the island

Following the announcement some time ago of Pullmantur’s cancellation of their South-Caribbean route, which includes Curaçao, today it has been confirmed that, after the efforts made by several parties on Curaçao with the support of the the Minister of Economic Development Eugene Rhuggenaath, the cruise line will be returning to the island. Pullmantur will resume making weekly calls to Curaçao on Mondays as of May 2017.

“The cruise ship Zenith will be made available and a total of 24 calls will be confirmed for Curaçao,” according to the Chief Commercial Officer of the Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA), Mr. Raul Manotas. This will bring close to 45,000 additional cruise-ship passengers to the island. Pullmantur’s decision to return to Curaçao comes after a series of deliberations of the CPA, the CTB and other local stakeholders with the cruise line.

Minister Rhuggenaath is extremely pleased with this development and congratulates the team with this accomplishment. He will continue to support the local cruise industry, which will continue to promote economic growth for the island of Curaçao.
