Willemstad, Curaҫao – Each year, Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA), Kompania di Tou Kòrsou(KTK) and Curaҫao Pilots Organization (CPO) are audited by the renowned Lloyds Register Quality Assurance. The audit is a requirement of the ISO 9001-2008 standard in order to maintain the quality certificate which serves to communicate CPA’s commitment to its customers and continuous improvement of its services.

A fundamental aspect in effective quality management requires quality assurance and control of core processes with the required documentation thereof. In that regard, the auditors were satisfied with the results of their assessment at CPA, KTK and CPO.  It is important that we continue incorporating these quality oriented policies in the company management and continue to show the excellent support, teamwork and cooperation among employees that have led to the positive results of the 2014 audit.

CPA has completed its first audit of its environmental policy; EMS (Environmental Management System)
The representatives of Lloyds have found that CPA, KTK and CPO have laid a solid foundation to become ISO 14001 certified. CPA has achieved this by organizing workshops in the past year for all its employees, including internal auditors, to raise environmental awareness. These workshops devoted considerable attention to the requirements and conditions to achieve the ISO 14001 standard. The conclusion is that CPA, KTK and CPO have already met the two basic registers, namely the legal register and the register covering all operational aspects of the organization that might have an environmental impact. CPA has set a target of April 2015 to get audited and obtain its ISO 14001 certification.
