CPA, KTK and CPO successfully pass the Lloyds Register ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 audit

All three companies are ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified by Lloyds. ISO 9001 is a standard that ensures that quality is consistently improved and ISO 14001 is the internationally recognized environmental management system (EMS) standard which requires an organization to effectively manage its environmental impacts through commitments to prevention, compliance and continual improvement.

CPA, KTK and CPO where audited for both standards by Lloyd’s Register in November and auditors found that the quality management systems where in compliance to meet the exceptionally high standards required to retain both certificates. As the port authority it was important to lead by example and become the first company in the port that is ISO 14001 certified.

In addition to complying with the standard a number of measures were taken in 2015 to reduce the environmental impact of the groups operations. These measures included among others the installation of energy saving equipment and lights. Solar panels were also installed at both the CPA and CPO offices and separated waste collection bins are now on site.

CPA will be approaching port operators this coming year to offer them assistance in setting up an environmental management system.
